Street Law for Youth in Transition

Street Law for Youth in Transition
What each youth may need to know about the laws of the United States and their own state as they relate to their responsibilities and their rights, this curriculum is designed to help you initiate a law-related education (LRE) program for your agency. LRE goes beyond questions of who, what, when, and where and helps young people answer questions about why. Created for use with youth in the foster care, homeless/runaway, juvenile justice and other systems; as a part of independent or transitional living programs; or with any youth making the often difficult transition to legal adulthood. The manual is broken into 19 lessons within eight categories; What are Laws?, Family Law, Foster Care, Consumer Laws, Housing, Employment, Education and Criminal Laws, and the Legal System. 2004, 394pp., 8.5 x 11, 3-ring loose-leaf binder
