The youth can remain in care until age 21 only for educational reasons. The judge has to order the extended stay and the case has to be reviewed by the Judge every six months. Is the Extended Medicaid Option Available for Youth Until 21?Yes
Youth who leave care are eligible for Medicaid; normally the youth's case worker would assist the youth with application for Medicaid. Criteria is that youth has to leave care after their 18th birthday. Can Youth in Care Get Driver’s Licenses?Yes
