Over 600 professionals from across the country working in the areas of independent living and transitional living programs and services will gather together to share their knowledge, experiences, and creativity in order to pursue their common goals -- offering compassionate and effective human services to the youth and families they work with. If you are one of the dedicated professionals who share these goals, this conference is your opportunity to:
- Hear about promising practices from across the country
- Work together to explore effective solutions for working with young people
- Learn about collaborations such as Shared Youth Vision, Runaway and Homeless Youth & Domestic Violence, and Systems of Care

A service of the USDHHS Children’s Bureau
Destination Future provides an opportunity for youth and adults from across the United States, to come together to discuss and address issues on how to engage youth in systemic change. We will discuss youth involvement in Child and Family Service Reviews and case plans, workforce preparation and collaboration with state agencies. Youth will learn and practice leadership skills, and become advocates for themselves and others. Youth who attend this conference not only make the system better for themselves -- they also pave the way for those to follow.
Who should attend?
- Youth: Ages 16 through 21 who are receiving independent/transitional living services, and have demonstrated leadership abilities.
- Supporters: Social workers, foster parents, youth workers, and volunteers.
- Maximum Ratio: Youth must be accompanied by a supporter – a maximum of 3 youth to 1 supporter. Supporters are responsible for the young people they bring.
